As it's my anniversary today, I found it fitting to update everyone on where we are at!
On September 27th, Sean began administering shots into my abdomen again. These are known as Lupron shots and are used as an injectable fertility medication that helps prevent premature ovulation. (As stated in my last post, I have been put on and off birth control so the doctors can control my cycle. But this really messes up my body, therefore the Lupron shots are needed to ensure the doctors are still in control.) We ended the Lupron shots on October 8th.
On October 8th, I had my first ultrasound for the FET cycle and lab work done. The ultrasound confirms that there is a thin lining (as they want to see it thicken over the coarse of ultrasounds) and ensure there are no estrogen filled cysts. IF there were estrogen filled cysts, the Transfer date would need to be put off because that would hinder the growth of a successful embryo. They did find another cyst on my left ovary, but after receiving the lab work back, it was shown to be a normal cyst and not filled with estrogen.
Following my appointments on the 8th, I began taking Estradiol- and oral medication that is used during IVF to help monitor follicular development, endometrial receptivity, and embryo implantation.
I return for an appointment on the 14th and the 17th for another ultrasound (confirming my lining is thickening and the lack of bad cysts) and for more blood work.
On the 17th, the doctors will inform me of my time for my actual embryo transfer!!! Our embryo transfer is set for October 23rd!!! THIS IS THE BIG DAY!!! Please send all prayers our way <3
