Fertility Specialist - May 2023
In May of 2023, we found a specialist that would hopefully provide us some answers we were looking for. There were an abundance of tests that we had to go through, including genetic testing, a fallopian tube test, egg and sperm tests, and much more. After undergoing all of those tests, we received very few answers.
We found that my right fallopian tube was blocked, which could cause future issues with getting pregnant on that side. That being said, I had been pregnant twice before, so clearly that tube being blocked, wasn't much of an issue. Other than that, we must have just had "bad luck" so far. The specialist stated that it's like rolling dice and landing on sixes both times. It's not common, but it can happen. She told us that the likelihood of miscarrying again was extremely low. For anyone in these circumstances, it would be extremely rare. Therefore, she explained that we should go ahead and try naturally again, but that if I miscarried a third time, we would move on to more intensive testing, and begin fertility treatment.
Some of my results included the following:
- Progesterone level - Good
- Chromosomes - Normal
- Shape of uterus - Normal
- TSH - Normal
- AMH level - Excellent
- FSH - a little worse than average (however, shouldn't be the reason for miscarrying)
- Right fallopian tube blocked
