I had been told to call the specialist on the first day of my period. We set up an appointment for me to head into the office three days into my cycle. That day, I needed to get another tube test done. Though my left tube had been clear in the first test, following ectopic pregnancies, they must check again to ensure that scar tissue from the right side didn't scar up the left side, too. Fortunately, it was clear.
I was given ridiculously expensive medication, and took that for five days. Five days of terrible headaches and terrible dizziness. A week following the medication, I went back into the office to see if my left or right follicles were growing (showing which side I'd be ovulating from that cycle). Unfortunately, it was my right side. This would end the current cycle.
I was immediately frustrated for allowing myself to have false hope. I knew the chances of it being on the left side were slim. Yet, this is the method we chose. Our first $1,000 down the drain, for nothing.
During this appointment, our specialist recommended that we should try once more before considering alternative options--IVF. I went into full panic mode, but ultimately understood what she was saying.
